Our “Brighten Their Day” project provided its second delivery to the Children's Hospital during the week of February 5. Items are used by staff to brighten the day of young patients who have had a difficult day OR an especially good day. 🌞
Goodies were delivered to first responders! A special shoutout to Nothing Bundt Cakes and our ladies for supplying the goodies from Great Harvest Bread (over 90 muffins and cookies) and Wally's Too Kettle Korn (100 bags of popcorn including some bags donated by Kettle Korn), and hundreds and hundreds of candies, candy bars, chips, individually wrapped cookies, nutrition bars, nuts, and more.
Seventy blankets were delivered to the ECU Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, January 24. Thanks to Jo Ann Allen and Kay Baker for chairing this worthy project. Thanks also to all the league members who helped make the blankets.
What a great time meeting these ROTC students at the Volunteer Expo!!
We are set up and ready for Volunteer Expo!
Thanks to the generosity of SLG members, Wendy Farrior and Dorothy Muller delivered an SUV FULL of blankets, coats, and sweaters to God's Love, a charity directed by Trudi Halstead in Winterville. Trudi Halstead spoke to the SLG last year. Some of the hundreds of items delivered on Tuesday, January 10, will be shared with the Joy Soup Kitchen. The mission of God's Love is to assist individuals and families by providing items such as clothes, food, etc., necessary to maintain a household. Over 750 clients have been assisted in establishing a household. The charity began in 2010.
